Festival of Inclusive Culture

∼ a space for encounter, diversity and reflection

The Festival of Inclusive Culture (FIK) is a community-based student event organised by the Department of Special and Inclusive Education at the Faculty of Education, Masaryk University. Its uniqueness lies precisely in the fact that it is created by students – for one another, but also for the wider public. This format fosters learning that takes place not only in the mind, but also between people. Learning that is vibrant, shared and rooted in practice.

FIK bridges worlds – worlds of diversity, experiences and perspectives. It offers opportunities for informal learning that is not just about passing on knowledge, but also about sharing, movement, questions and silence. We create it together – people with different skills, experiences and needs. We welcome students from Masaryk University and anyone who fancies joining in – or is simply passing by.

The festival has two main strands: ArtWorkshops and the arts and culture programme.

ArtWorkshops provide a space for self-exploration and the creative process – personal, safe and exploratory. They take the form of art therapy, drama therapy and other art-based approaches that foster inner growth, authenticity and understanding of oneself and others. They are a space where we can connect with ourselves – and with the uniqueness of others.

The festival's arts and culture programme features theatre, film, music, human library and other formats that broaden our perception of diversity and showcase it in all its forms.

That is why we believe that inclusion's no illusion around arts and culture – when we create a space where we can come together simply as human beings.
